A farmer called Shane Torstonson was fined for leaving a heard of cows to starve on his property.
A Waikato farm owner has been fined after leaving the herd of cows to starve on his property. Some were just left for dead and some others disappeared.
The 51 year old man went into the Morrinsville District Court this week. He was convicted and fined $2,700 after admitting he didn't look after his cows. The cows were transferred to a second grazier (a person who fattens cows and other animals for the market.) 10 months later. The grazier was very concerned about the condition of the animals.
